Cookie policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. The browser's local storage works in a similar way. In this policy we call both of them cookies.

These cookies are needed for the site to work, to remember your choice and to protect the site from automated traffic. Under Article 7.¹(2) of the Information Society Services Law they do not require consent. They are not used for advertising and do not follow you to other sites.

If you press Accept in the cookie bar, we load Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited. It shows how many people visit the site, where they come from and which pages they read. We use this data only to improve the site. Until you consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and these cookies are not set.

Google signals, ad personalisation and data sharing for improving Google products are switched off. Google Analytics does not store the IP addresses of visitors from the European Union: the address is used only to derive an approximate location and is then discarded straight away. Google Analytics deletes event data linked to cookie identifiers after 14 months; aggregated reports without those identifiers may be kept longer.

Google may also process analytics data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision, and Google also applies the European Commission standard contractual clauses. You can change your choice at any time: press Cookie settings in the site footer or at the end of this page. If you withdraw consent, analytics is no longer loaded and the analytics cookies are deleted from webruins.com. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.

Refusing has no effect on how you can use the site. Ignoring the cookie bar does not give consent. We will ask for your choice again after 12 months, or sooner if this policy changes materially.

So that we can prove your choice, each time you make it we store a record: a randomly generated identifier, the choice, the time, the policy version, the page language and whether the choice was made in the cookie bar or in the settings. The record holds no IP address and nothing else that identifies you directly. Records are kept for 3 years and then deleted. The legal basis is our obligation to be able to demonstrate consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(c) and Article 7(1)).
